About the Tour

Enjoy the story tour of "A Theater Built by a Gold Mine" including an Interpretive Exhibit upstairs showcasing 1914 swimming pool items, fire-damaged treasures such as the original grand chandelier, and photos and videos from the theater's heydays. It's great for the whole family!

Interpretive Exhibit

This visionary attraction is a public exploration of the story of this opera house theater and recreation center from construction to current day and into the future. The exhibit features large format photography, and beloved artifacts from the building's past.

Accessibility & Parking

Due to the building being older, accessibility is limited. However, accessible seating is available, please call us at 605-584-2067 to secure your accessible seat.
Both entrances are accessible, but the Julius St entrance utilizes an elevator to get to the theater floor. Assistive listening devices are available at request.
Parking is available at different areas around the opera house. Please see the map above for parking details.
